Sustainability - Looking after the Planet
The aim of our Responsible Retailer programme is to lower our environmental footprint.
We do not waste fules on getting goods sent to us and then resent on to the customers, we have them sent direct, this saves on average 100% of the distance your order travels. Orders are batched up to send in larger volume, again saving on the fules needed as there are less pickups. Returns are sent directly back to our suppliers, again saving on the double travel needed by most sellers.
We have all low engry lighting.
Low carbon travel, most staff work from their own homes, so less or no travel, less fule, less impact on the local community.
We try not to print anything that can be on a screen, cutting printer waste.
We have cut down on all waste and try to recycle, we reuse packing all the time.
Cutting down on Plastics
We will use paper/card rather then plastic where we can, we ask customers to reuse the packing as well for their postage.
We do not provide any plastic shopping bags.
We are cutting back on outer packing where we can.
Many of the items we sell are meant to help cut down on plastic usage, like our metal kids water bottles, which are fun and kids love them.
Equality of Opportunity
We have more women than men working for Ape Retail on 1st April 2018.
Pay is equal for the same role and output.
We are all people and that is all we see, other people, not labels or groups.
Everyone that works for us has the same opportunity, there are no barriers of entry, we will not label, we are all one people.
Fair Trade with Suppliers
Being fair and profit sharing across the supply chain, working with our suppliers to make it better.
We work with our suppliers to offer sustainable products and packaging.
We do not put profit over planet.
Honest and Moral with Customers
We will be above all else, honest and moral with customers, this means we will do what is right, if we are at fault we will at once put our hands up, and offer to correct the issue, if we lose an order, we will fix it.
All we ask in return is customers be honest with us, if you break your order, tell us, you may be surprised that we can offer you an "at cost" replacement, or send you a free part.
Honesty is the way forward for all of us, it starts here.
Helping the Community
Giving back through charitable activities and supporting the local communities is what we at Ape Retail do.
We will often provide items for local events and schools.
One of my dreams ( yes me, as the owner ) is that once the business is larger, we will provide learning and activities to the local community, this may be in the form of free clubs, that I would love to do, and will do.
